This is a lodge up in the mountains of Idaho that I went to a lot while I was growing up. The slide is AMAZING - especially for a kid! But the stairs? Not so much. :) haha
They used to be just cinder blocks wedged into the mountain when I was little, but since then they have been redone.
When you get to the bottom of the slide, and see how far you have to climb - it's really intimidating! The very best thing to do is just keep your focus on the step in front of you & keep climbing. Pretty soon you are at the top & it didn't seem that bad at all. (Well, until you want to go down the slide again.)
That's how weight loss is. If you look at how much you have to lose, it might seem overwhelming & you want to give up after the first couple days or even weeks. But if you focus on taking small steps - one day at a time, one week at a time - pretty soon a couple months have gone by (along with a few pounds) and you look up and see a whole new you!
Have you ever heard this saying?:
If we have something in front of us that seems so big and we think there is no way we can accomplish it, just breaking it down into smaller pieces makes it much more achievable.
Every little thing we do each day has an impact on our lives and our bodies. So when we are tired and would rather sleep in, think about how it will affect our bodies and our mental state. It's really hard sometimes! Yeah, 1 day is no big deal, you are right. But if we do that 2 days a week for 12 weeks, that is 24 days we missed a workout - which is almost an entire month we are set back! Plus, who knows how many cheat meals that is too! So the small choices you make do add up over time!
